I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Vrbo in Jul 2014
Interview
The process consisted of a phone interview with the hiring manager, then an onsite interview where I met with 5 people. Overall the process was pretty straight forward and the on boarding process was just as straight forward. the team was very good at setting my expectations as well as sending me any maps or documentation that I would need prior to my interview. After the interview I was walked through the building to get a feel for the culture. I enjoyed my experience.

Question 1
I was asked to run a query right there in the interview on the interviewers laptop. Was not expecting that!
I was disappointed in the interview experience with HomeAway. I had an interview scheduled for which the recruiter was late for. The recruiter later rushed me off the phone. If you’re trying to win over a candidate, you have to make a good impression on them. It did not encourage me want this job and do well on my interview. I am grateful for recognizing this unprofessionalism early on in the process and not wasting any more of my time. Scary to think what joining the company could be. The little things matter. It’s rude and unprofessional to use up a candidate’s time on an interview and then to leave him or her hanging. Do you honestly think you’ll find the best candidates this way?
