Interview
During our initial call for a specific role, Recruiter demonstrated a deep understanding of several other positions at HomeAway, allowing him to rapidly map my skills to different job descriptions and increase the likelihood of driving both agendas (mine and HomeAway's) forward . In most companies, recruiters do not possess this level of business acumen and maturity.
Also, a key aspect of any interview process for me is how fully transparent it is. A candidate can easily tell an honest, transparent feedback from a standardized one. And I was glad to hear the former from HomeAway.

Question 1
Tell me how your background experience relates to the job description.
The interview process was quite thorough, but similar to many other large Technology companies. I interviewed in person with the Hiring Manager over coffee, which was great. Next, I spoke with the Director of Product for the division over the phone, which led to an onsite interview that consisted of 4 sessions culminating in a Product Presentation to a panel of Product and Engineering teammates.

The most difficult question was from an Engineering lead that asked me to solve the Convex Hull problem on the whiteboard by writing an algorithm that could solve it.
