      Submit resume, video interview, assessment day, medical check, references, offer and ground school. Random questions answered all but one. The ones i answered i did well at still didnt get an offer.

      I applied online. I interviewed at Virgin Australia (Melbourne) in Oct 2024

      Applied back in February 2024 for Melbourne. Did not hear back until October 2024 and they sent an email for video interview questions (this is not a Zoom or Teams interview), this is where you have to record a video of yourself answering three questions. From memory 2 questions were about customer service and then 1 was about Why Virgin Australia. I did this on a Sunday and the next day Monday I got an email advising that I was invited to join the Assessment Day in Tullarmine. When I arrived, waited for a bit and was surprised that other previous employees of different Airlines had applied for the role. (Note that I have no experience in the Aviation industry).

      Unfortunately, I don't remember many of the questions, but we did 2 group activities. So basically, before you enter you get assigned to a table with other candidates. The VA will talk about the role the good and the bad, the expectations of their staff and how they have taken away benefits from staff as well. Afterwards that's when we did two group activities which were all scenario-based in the aviation industry - 1. something about how do you deal with an angry customer on board that's trying to put their handy carry. 2. Seating plan on the plane where you have to match the customers on the seats based on their needs. Here during the group activity they are marking you based on what you say etc. Hard to talk when everyone is talking over you. After this group activity was the individual interviews where you all leave the conference room and then they will call you individually. From memory one of the questions was why Virgin Australia, your strengths, surprised that I wasn't asked about my weakness.

      Average experience. Friendly staff but company overall very picky with who they hire. Combination of group activities and a 1 on 1 ‘chat’ or interview. No feedback provided if you’re not successful so hard to tell what you need to improve on and seems like they hire a very very small amount of those who attend the assessment days. Quite a length process especially if you end up not receiving an offer and ground schools can be weeks or months after your assessment day.
