I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Vinted (Berlin) in Mar 2025
Interview
An arrogant HR started scolding me for not reading about the company "enough" before the interview, got offended that I called their company just a marketplace and not a second-place shop. The HR also got offended when I said that I read what was on their website and it was not very informative. The job title says senior software engineer yet HR himself admits that they do not have internal definition for a senior position, and they are just looking for someone above junior dev. Ended interview in 10 minutes because I could not deal with the interviewer's arrogance.

Interview
I had read the interview reviews being quite negative, but the market is tight and I need a job.
Also I read that the company heavily favors employees in Vilnius, so I applied in Vilnius.
The level of lack of seriousness is unbelievable.
The company is obviously not hiring and the positions I applied to were fantasy jobs, things like working for the department of improvement of other departments' code or the department of the creation of guidelines for other departments.
During the interviews I also understood that they are running a large Ruby blob, that they are "converting to microservices" and "converting to golang", "more and more services are written in golang", yeah right.
The cherry on the cake is when it came to the take-home assignment. They make you fork a 1.5k line repo and do a code review.
I knew how this would end but I need a job so I did it anyway.
They asked me to "submit my assignment through Dropbox" which already tells you how fake the whole thing is.
So I submitted a link to my PR (to which they did not have permission to access) and after more than a week they came back with a rejection message with "technical reasons" listing things that were not connected to the code I reviewed.
Don't waste your time.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Vinted (New York, NY)
Interview
- Initial interview with tech lead
- Home assignment (thoroughly review a pull request)
- Technical interview with system design and discussion on home assignment.
- One day tryout (new system design assignment with 2 presentations throughout the day)
I liked that the people were friendly and polite. The assignments were very interesting. I also got to see how they work and organize their code.
I didn't like that despite going through all of that quite demanding process, I did not get any feedback about what went wrong (of course the interviewee might have already figured out, but sometimes there are reasons or mistakes that are not apparent). I believe that when you ask for people to dedicate so much time and effort to the interviews, you should at least provide some feedback.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Our goal is to constantly provide a superior candidate experience and to provide prompt feedback to all of our applications. We have forwarded your feedback internally to investigate the case.
