      Submitted online application, then was contacted by talent acquisition for a video interview that was set for a few days later. Received a link and was ready to go at the correct time.... only to be completely ghosted. I sat in the zoom waiting room for 15 minutes before I left. Very unprofessional.

      The recruiter was completely unreliable. It took several emails to arrange a call. When the scheduled call date finally arrived, the recruiter was a no-show. Sent an email during the scheduled time to ask if there were any problems, no response until late the next day (30+ hours). Found this lacked professionalism, but rescheduled anyway. After speaking with them several weeks after the initial contact, decided not to move forward as the discussion brought more into question.

      I applied online. I interviewed at VTS (London, England) in Apr 2022

      I applied online. The process took around 3 weeks. The stages were: 1. Phone-screen with the recruiter (30 mins) 2. Video call with the hiring manager (30 mins) 3. Panel interview (conducted over zoom). These comprised of x4 30 min back to back calls with different members of the team. The process started off straight forward, with clear communication up until the completion of the final stage panel interviews. I was told I could expect a decision within a week. This quickly turned into the most unprofessional process I’ve experienced. 2 days after I completed the final interviews, the recruiter booked a quick call to go over feedback. The recruiter never turned up to the call which was bizarre considering there had been some back and forth by email 5 mins before the booked time slot. The recruiter then reached out the week after for the feedback call after I chased for an update to which I was advised they needed more time to get through more interviews. I chased for an update 2 weeks later, same response. 1 day later, the recruiter emailed me requesting my availability for a call and didn’t respond after I provided my availability. To add to the unprofessionalism, the recruiter posted the role to their network on LinkedIn (which I am part of) to advertise the open role the week after. While I understand recruiters are busy managing open roles and numerous candidates, this shouldn’t be an excuse for this level of unprofessionalism. Candidates spend a lot of time through these processes, especially once they reach the final stages. A simple rejection email goes a long way, as opposed to erratic, unresponsive communication. The interviews however, were a pleasant experience. The team were really knowledgable, and I enjoyed speaking with them.
