The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group (San Antonio, TX) in Sept 2011
Interview
Submitted resume and application online and received an email to do an online skills test the same day. Took the skills/personality test at home and received an invitation to take an onsite assessment 2 days later. Took the online assessment and was advised the next step would be phone interview which I scheduled the following Wednesday. After the phone interview I received a call the following Tuesday to interview in person the next day. Arrived at the interview 20 minutes early and felt chastised by the receptionist for arriving early. When the recruiter walked out to greet me she said my first name only at which point I greeted her with my first and last name. She proceeded to walk right past me to ask the receptionist for a pen. From that point she hurried me into a back room, sat down, and seemed to not even look at me before inviting me to sit down. Right off the bat she advised me that my skills and qualifications were impressive, but they needed to compare me to other candidates and that she didn't want to give me any "false hope" LOL. Those are exact words from her. As we proceeded she asked me the same questions from the phone interview, even advising me the questions were meant to "pscho-analyze" me. She then proceeded to tell me that although she felt I was weak on medical terminology and if I didn't have IC9-coding experience she would support and recommend me for the position. Medical terminology and IC9-coding experience were not requirements or qualifications for the job. I was then hurried out of the interview. A week later I received a rejection letter stating "Although your skills and qualifications are impressive, we have identified other candidates whose experience more closely fit the specifications of the position."
Based on my interview experience, I am happy not to receive an offer from this company. $12.02/hr is certainly not worth it anyway.
The interview process was quick. During the process my recruiter was able to explain everything in great detail. It was a refreshing experience. It consisted of in person and group interviews.

Question 1
Explain a situation where you had to assist an unhappy customer.
Once you finally get a call it’s a quick interview process. I did 2 interviews but decided to move on. Pretty standard stuff, will ask you about previous insurance and/or customer service experience. Low entry level pay.

Interview process is different. You receive an email interview to go over the position and answer questions and you video your answers. If selected you continue on to the next interview with and find out if you got the position or not.
