I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines
Interview
Applied online for a corporate position (had a referral). Recruiter contacted me via phone and email to go over some background information and salary expectations. Another person scheduled the back-to-back interviews- one with the hiring manager and another with a manager in a different area.
Give yourself a few minutes to get through security. There is a small, and very warm, waiting room (no check-in desk). Another candidate flew in that morning and wasn't sure what to do with their garment bag, so if you're flying in, ask the recruiter ahead of time. Your first interviewer will meet you at the waiting room and then take you to the room you'll be interviewing in.
They did not use structured interviews (the interviewers asked different questions). One interviewer asked behavioral questions and the other interviewer focused on the resume. The hiring manager's decision will carry the most weight.
The internal recruiter did a good job at walking me through the process and following up once a decision had been made. It took about 2 weeks once the recruiter contacted me. In the end, they went with an internal candidate.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at United Airlines (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2015
Interview
Applied online and submitted resume. A couple weeks later, human resources contacted me. Asked to continue with the hiring process. Accepted the opportunity. They arranged for a face to face interview at Chicago HQ. Interviewed with the hiring manager and another program manager in the department. Both were very friendly and professional. The interview consisted of resume and experience discussion followed by standard situational/behavioral human resource question and answer. It lasted a little over an hour and was primarily relaxed and seemed focused on give and take and professionals talking about the industry and job requirements.
