I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines in Aug 2015
Interview
Applied online (Uploaded certificates, resume).. etc And 3 days after I received an e-mail invitation for a "HireVue" an online interview, had the interview on 08/07/2015 and still waiting for response. The online interview went just fine, It was a bit confusing with all the questions posted online so I just decided to go ahead and take the interview. You have 24 seconds to prepare yourself to answer after you see the question and then it will automatically start recording in 3 seconds.

First, you have to apply it and submit your application on United website when the flight attendant opposition is opening.
Then, you will get an assessment, kinda like a personality test.
Second, you will be invited to a virtual interview. basically, you need to answer 8 questions and record your answers. You have 3 attempts to record it.
Completed the assessment and attended the optional Q&A teams meeting , I am now awaiting the virtual face to face . It’s been almost a month of waiting however in the Q&A meeting they mentioned that it can take some time possibly towards the end of summer .
