I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2015
Interview
Let me start by saying that pretty much everything that is stated on this website is accurate. During the face to face interview, I was asked ALL of the same questions that I prepared for by reviewing previous flight attendant interviews. Crazy right? Anyhoo, I applied for the flight attendant position on April 15th and received a email on April 17th requesting me to complete a one way video interview (one way meaning that there was no one on the other end and I was pretty much talking to my phone). The video interview had 6 questions:
1. Why United?
2. How do you consistently deliver exceptional customer service in the workplace?
3. Tell us about a time you went above and beyond to meet or exceed a customer's expectation?
4. How do customers and coworkers perceive you?
5. What is a misconception a customer or coworker may have of you?
6. Tell us anything else you would like United took now about you?
I received an email the next morning inviting me to schedule a group interview. The interview was at SFO and there were only 3 other candidates being interviewed. I made conversation with the people sitting around me, there were about 8 recruiters in the room and I knew they were observing us. Two recruiters introduced themselves before playing a video that covered the job and duties of a flight attendant. We were able to ask questions in the end. Then two different recruiters called our names one by one and we were escorted to a different room to complete a 2:1 s interview. My recruiters were very nice and welcoming. They asked me to read an in flight announcement, then I was asked 5 questions, which included two situational questions. The overall interview process, including the group interview lasted about 30 mins and I was told that I would hear back from them in 5-7 business days. They notified me 4 days later through email stating that I did not get the position. Overall, it was a good interview process, have to wait a year to reapply for the position.

Question 1
What is a common misconception a customer may have of you? (They asked me this in the video interview as well so I made sure to give them different answer)

First, you have to apply it and submit your application on United website when the flight attendant opposition is opening.
Then, you will get an assessment, kinda like a personality test.
Second, you will be invited to a virtual interview. basically, you need to answer 8 questions and record your answers. You have 3 attempts to record it.
Completed the assessment and attended the optional Q&A teams meeting , I am now awaiting the virtual face to face . It’s been almost a month of waiting however in the Q&A meeting they mentioned that it can take some time possibly towards the end of summer .
