I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in Jan 2013
Interview
This was my second time going through this process, but the first time under the United name. The procedure is very much the same as the old Continental process. Both times I applied, I got very quick responses and invitations for interviews. The interview is conducted in three rounds. I made it through the first round with no problem. The second interview is where I faced the most difficulty the first time around because the tactics change completely. Your interviewer may come across as more aggressive or confrontational in the second round. The secret is to turn it around in your favor. I made a connection with the interviewer and by being pleasant, funny, and positive throughout the process, his demeanor changed as well. You'll be asked questions about handling difficult situations in the second round. My advice to anyone who makes it to this stage is to have 3-5 situations you've handled in the past in mind beforehand so you can tailor your responses to whatever question is asked. The main issue here is that they only accept about 5 people from each group. In my case, the interviewer seemed genuinely impressed and actually told me that he really enjoyed talking to me. He seemed remorseful that he wasn't able to move me to the next stage. Many other candidates who were qualified and done well weren't chosen either. Don't let it get you down and keep trying if this is really what you want to do.

Question 1
Steps you will take to ensure you are successful at training
It started with the Assessment, followed by 8 video questions, and then the video interview. The in person final interview I am waiting for. They said I would know in 2-5 business days.
Its a multi-step interview process. First a resume submission and a questionnaire, then a pre-recorded interview with a few questions. I was asked this during the pre-recorded interview. Waiting for my live virtual interview!
