      Flight Attendant Interview

      8 Apr 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Houston, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in Apr 2016

      Interview

I applied end of March 2016 and got an email for Video interview the next day. Like everyone else says...it's awkward! I was in the middle of my practice questions and accidentally hit the "start" button, so be careful of that! You do have some time in between each question to gather your thoughts, and there are 5-6 questions that are all listed on this site somewhere. I got an email about 2 days later inviting me to the f2f interview in Houston, TX. I called the recruiting center and chose to interview in April 2016. I interviewed on a Friday. I don't know how other days of the week are, but this day there were only about 10 other people interviewing with me which I liked. We watched a brief video, talked about the job/pay, and then a quick Q&A with two current flight attendants. I really learned a lot during this time, actually, so it's definitely helpful! I had been on a Delta f2f before and every single person was dressed alike (girls in skirt suits with white button ups, and men in black suits) I figured this one would be the same, so I felt obligated to wear that outfit, but everyone in this interview wore something different! Ladies were in pant suits, dresses, and all different colors. It's was great to see people stand out a little more (in my opinion). Right away they started calling in candidates for 1:1 interviews. I was SUPER nervous and tried not to show it, but you could definitely tell in my voice. All the recruiters are extremely nice, so my advice to you would to try and relax. No one is that intimidating. They want you to do well. It seemed like they asked a million questions, but it was a 3 part interview. First was just basically Y or N answers about the position, second were the senerio questions. " Name a time you didn't agree with a policy." " Why should we hire you?" " What makes you a good candidate." "What do you think is the most challenging part about being a flight attendant?" Then there was the role playing (HELP!) You read a card, and the FA acts like the passenger. Mine was about putting away electronic devices. I was so nervous that I thought of a million more things I could have said after, but I did the best I could. He took me in a room with a few others and about 10 min later I was called into a room with 2 others. I was asked more personal questions this time. Questions about relocating, working on holidays, my tattoos ect. Then.... I was lead out and told I would hear back in 5-7 days. I will let you know what I hear, but If anyone has advice on this I would greatly appreciate it! I read most find out that day, but some do not. One girl I interviewed with did not get asked the personal questions with the other 2 recruiters, she just got a "thank you, well email you." So, i don't know if that was a good sign or not? Good luck everyone!!

Second, you will be invited to a virtual interview. basically, you need to answer 8 questions and record your answers. You have 3 attempts to record it.
