The interview process was misleading. I was lead to believe they were hiring for a SWE when in reality they were probing for Solutions Architects with SWE experience.
Round 1:
Interview with recruiter, Piper Companies. They would keep me on the phone for hours at a time and offered very little in the way of preparation.
Round 2:
First interview with a level III engineer which went as expected.
Round 3:
Technical interview which had an awkward start, a lot of gamer speak/slang. Very strange, albeit cringe and somewhat toxic. The challenge was not at all difficult and went well.
Round 4:
Meeting with HR. I was initially led to believe I was meeting with the HR department, then was told by Piper at the last minute three C suite execs would be attending. They asked mostly sales related questions that I was not prepared for. They were looking for people manager/SA with strong SWE background at $70/hr. I took a pass because it seemed like a toxic environment.
