No interview. Just fill out your info and agree to a background check.
You'll need to make your car payments, insurance payments, smart phone data payments, gas payments, car washes and car maintenance in order to do this job. Also, maintain at least a 4.7 star rating by passengers. Also, accept a minimum of 80% of the ride requests they send to you. For an independent contractor, there's a lot of employee-style rules. They suggest YOU buy bottled water and offer it to your passengers.

Pretty much, if you meet their basic criteria and can pass a background check, you can drive for them.
There is no interview process. Uber lets you come on if you have a current car and registration. Easy process to go through. It takes about a day or two in order to go through.

Absolutely no interview required; only an application period where you must be approved based on background check, driving record, vehicle approval, and insurance verification. After the process, you are ready to hit the road. That was a big seller for me; the ability to begin making money very soon after applying.
