Did a homework assignment, product sense interview, and followed by an execution interview. Overall it was very fast and got moved between rounds quickly. Interviewers were nice but pretty deadpan in terms of it not being very conversational.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Uber in Oct 2018
Interview
First round is a HW assignment candidates are given a week to complete. Prompt was to go through the entire product cycle for an existing or new feature. They recommend that candidates spend ~6 hours on the proposal but chances are, you'll take much longer. I personally took 2-3 days to draft a ~10 page proposal. Best to be concise and don't go overboard with content.
Phone interview was fairly straightforward. You're given a 45 min product design interview and another 45 min analytical interview back to back. I didn't make it past this round but prepare for questions specifically related to Uber's product/business. I had one really nice interviewer and another that seemed like he didn't want to be there. At least one had gone through the APM program.

Question 1
- Whats your favourite non-technical product?
- What metrics would you look at to improve the pickup experience?
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Uber (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Didn’t even get a first-round interview. This program is ridiculously competitive. If you don’t have FAANG on your resume, good luck. At the info session, they had past APMs who all interned at top tech companies, showing applicants that they have a great chance. My friend got an interview, and I shared one of the questions she got.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Uber
Interview
Consists of 4 rounds in total. Take home case, design interview, metrics and strategy interview, and final on site. Take home care is to come up with a new idea for uber. (Like uber frieght, I did uber for fashion delivery). The second round is a typical design interview. The third round, the metrics case is where I did not move to the next round.
