I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at UWorld (Dallas, TX) in Oct 2022
Interview
The interview process occurred in a few stages. After a brief and typical conversation with a recruiter, the main interview task is writing sample questions. The recruiter recommends downloading a free trial for the exam you would be working on, and it is highly recommended to take the time to review the style of questions and explanations of the answers. You will be given a standard set of writing tasks to each applicant for the position including drafting new questions, answering and writing explanations of the correct response for existing questions, and drafting a visual to explain the correct answer choice. This does take some time to write a sample that follows all the directions and mirrors the UWorld style of writing. The writing sample is then reviewed, and feedback is provided to engage in the revise and resubmit collaborative process of editing. The final stage is an in-person interview with the team director, specific subject team, and company executives. While this is a longer interview process, it gives the applicant and team a good example of the work tasks of the position and the collaborative process.

Interview
The interview process at UWorld was fairly painless and straightforward: a brief phone interview, a writing sample task, and then an in-person interview in Dallas. The writing sample took me a couple of days to complete but the tasks closely mirror the job itself, so it gave me the opportunity to see what much of the job would be like. Coming from academia, I always spent at least that much time prepping materials for academic position interviews -- and those were more stressful. Overall, interviewing at UWorld was a positive experience.
