Two Vp Of Data Science interview questions

It starts with an HR call. The HR says she will get back to me after two days, but actually get back after one and half week. Then it's a 30mins chat with CEO, it goes well. Next round is a tech interview with the senior data scientist (who they don't want to do internal promotion to VP of Data Science). And the guy come into the interview with the only intention to reject me. I might do the same if I were in his shoes, I just don't understand the interview arrangement.
