      Backend Developer Interview

      7 Feb 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Twilio in Feb 2024

      Interview

Two interviews. The first one about my working experience. The second one with specific questions about how I have handled work situations before. The interviewer didn't seem very interested in my answers so I guess he did the interview out of commitment. It would have been better if they told me "no", so I wouldn't have to wait 2 weeks for that interview. I received a generic email saying that they did not continue with my process and that I would not be able to receive feedback. A complete waste of time.

      Question 1

What is the project you have worked on that you are most proud of?

      Backend Developer Interview

      28 Aug 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Madrid
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Twilio (Madrid) in Aug 2021

      Interview

They sent me a message on Linkedln to find my approval and when I said yes, they sent me a Hackerrank test without talking anything. I ask for a conversation where they cleared up my doubts, talked about the company, ask me briefly about my last experience and job position, etc. So I took the test and two days later told me they prefer other candidates. How can you know how someone work with a single test? If you look for the perfect coder go to the Hackerrank top leaderboard, Github and other platforms; but respect my time. I encourage you to ask for money next time you have to go through a long recruitment process because this is not fair unless you finally get the job. They insisted me on and I thought there was a strong reason and I tried, but Twilio did not deserve my precious time.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

General questions about my last experience, the salary I looked for and my current job position (lead, technical, etc). Hackerrank test is pretty similar to LeetCode ones, just search for top tech companies code questions. They change the title of the problem but the exercise itself is the same :)
