I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Turbulent (Montreal, QC) in Nov 2020
Interview
!!!WARNING: Candidates you are being warned, do NOT waste your precious time for this company. Disappointment is the only outcome. Glassdoor please help candidates to avoid such a company who are so condescending!!!
I completely agree with the previous commentators. Turbulent is easily the WORST company who have NO respect for the candidates time and is one which should be avoided at all cost. seriously don't even bother applying.
It starts directly from the code challenge and no opportunity to even speak with with any tech team or anyone about the role as they think candidates are beneath them and not worth their time. That was the first red flag. But naively I still proceeded.
The code challenge was HUGE, the HR does not even communicate (useless is the right thing to say), and after investing 3 FULL days to finish their "so called" coding challenge (project if I may say) there was no feedback for a very very long time. It took around 45 days to even get any reply from them. And once I got the reply the feedback was completely and factually INCORRECT.
After constant pursuing they got on a call with me for the FIRST time in 45 days along with the tech team to tell me why the feedback was that and it turns out one of the tech person did not even know what the requirements of the challenge was but still gave "requirement not met" as a written review. The reviewer on record accepted that they barely opened the requirements and my challenge and it was a wrong feedback from his side. The other tech reviewer didn't knew what the MVC architecture is and after chatting with the reviewer and explaining them they agreed all the negative feedback which was given was indeed incorrect. Even the HR shook their head in disbelief at that embarrassing situation from their side and a blunder they made.
But as their plan was to still reject me the HR finally interjected by saying that "lets say there was a problem" and rejected the facts which were proven in front. If Turbulent still has any humanity left please think how you would feel if someone treats you like that by simply denying the right even if proven right in-front.
Turbulent expects to build a FULL application for them for free and with a very high standards but are not even ready to invest their time in writing honest feedback and having a conversation. Infact they don't even bother to have ANY conversation with you which is extremely sketchy as they get application for free and then all you get in return is half-hearted and that too incorrect feedback . They are not even interested in hiring just free application.
The people at Turbulent should really be ashamed at themselves for treating candidates with such disrespect and lying.
Invest your time in other good company who will atleast respect you as a candidate and would give you genuine feedback should something go wrong instead of taking your application for free and magically eliminating you from the process.
