Worst interview process ever. Recruiter supplied very little information about the actual role. She predetermined I was a hunter through conversation about being in outside sales and achieving things like salesperson of the year.
She made being a hunter sound like a bad thing... not good for any sales organization looking to grow if your recruiters take this stance.
If she had asked any follow up questions she would have learned that I spent 4 years in a relationship building role that was primarily focused on sales through service so while I enjoy the hunt I am also a fantastic gatherer with rock solid dealer relationships.
And the kicker... I received a very unprofessional email about how they were pursuing other candidates for an area to which I didn't apply!
So the reply wasn't even a rejection for the job I applied to.
When I pressed for clarification, I got the snappy response "this is for that market also".
All of this just leaves the impression they don't really have their act together, by far the worst interview process I've seen and I worked in the retail car business so then there's that.
Chip Perry may have straightened out dealer relations but there's still a long road ahead for course correction in other departments.
