Took a call from the recruiter. I asked what they meant by "solutions engineer". Recruiter told me it was mostly backend engineering but also 20% travelling to hospitals and explaining things. Firstly, I have no interest in doing onprem client-facing presentations as a senior engineer. Furthermore, that's absolutely a waste of any senior engineers time. Lastly, that's 80% remote not 100% remote. Personally, I think this company is looking for an extremely niche skillset and then piling something completely unrelated on top. It would be like me looking for a optoelectronic engineer that can also be a head chef 20% of the time.
