Interview
Online video interview with two Senior Underwriters from the Energy team. They said as a formality they have to ask some (approx 3) general situational questions given to them by HR (i.e., STAR questions). Then went on to ask more about my general motivations for working in insurance given my engineering background. Following this, the interview turned into more of a laid-back chat, discussing hobbies and other interests outside of work. Although you should have some pre-prepared answers about some projects or experience to talk about, they were very friendly and easy to talk to providing you have the confidence.

Tell us about a time you were working with others where you couldn’t find a way to get the task done, and how was it resolved?
Awesome. It was such a great experience that taught me so many valuable skills and I am grateful to have such a thoughtful team help me throughout this internship. This is also amazing that the internship was remote and had a very flexible schedule that helped me balance it with my life.

It was an overall very long process. Took several weeks for them to review my resume and get back to me. They ended up offering several weeks after even though they said it would be a quick turnaround

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Travelers (Mississauga, ON) in Sept 2022
Interview
Straightforward process with 3 steps- phone screening, Zoom interview with two team leaders, another Zoom meeting with a manager. Friendly atmosphere, I felt as I would be on a coffee break with colleagues. Good communication with HR manager.
