Arab Insurance Group (ARIG) does what its name implies: it provides insurance and reinsurance to companies operating in the Arabian Peninsula and elsewhere in the Middle East. (It touts itself as the top reinsurer in the Arab world.) ARIG also offers companies a variety of financial services -- including investment management, risk assessment, and actuarial services -- as well as specialized insurance software. The company has operations in Bahrain, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. It has announced plans to sell its minority interest in Egypt-based Arab Misr Insurance Group to Kuwait-based Gulf Insurance Company.
