There were two rounds in the interview process. The first was a thoughtful conversation with a senior designer, which felt engaging and well-aligned with the expectations for a fall internship role. The second round was with a design manager. While it was structured and professional, the conversation felt somewhat scripted and less conversational—almost as if a decision had already been made prior to the call.
Overall, the process was fairly straightforward, though the second round lacked the level of engagement I typically look for in a two-way discussion.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TikTok (New York, NY) in Sept 2024
Interview
should be a simple 2 step interview process. A case study walk thru (no deck, just scrolling and talking about one case study) and a more casual one (if I heard correctly from my interviewer.
