I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at TikTok
Interview
Unfortunately, I had only one interview after the HR phone call instead of the tech standard of multiple interviews. Questions were basic and easy. Ended-up not being taken because of lacking experience in the advertising industry - which they could have easily crossed checked on the CV. This bias towards selecting candidates that looks like the interviewer could have been avoided with a multiple 30mn interview process.
Even if the interview process was lacking - the company still seems great to work for.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at TikTok (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Feb 2026
Interview
Recruiter screen → Hiring manager → Case + deck creation → Panel interview → Offer stage
The interview rounds were structured and professional. The case assignment was clear, and the panel interview went smoothly, although a scheduled grandparent interviewer did not attend and there was no separate grandparent interview afterward.
The experience changed at the offer stage. The level proposed did not match the scope discussed throughout the interviews, and the compensation presented was significantly below market for the responsibilities outlined. Requests for clarity on leveling criteria, compensation philosophy, and internal benchmarks were met with vague answers, making it difficult to understand how the offer was determined.
The team seemed alright, but the lack of transparency and the large gap between role expectations and the final offer raised concerns about internal alignment. I ultimately declined.

Interview
HR doesn’t know what the team is looking for in the role. Interview instructions were unclear and not communicated to interviewee and interviewer. Wasted the time of both parties, especially when interviewee proceeded to prepare the case.
