The interviewer maintained a flat, disengaged tone throughout the interview, showing little enthusiasm or interest in the conversation. The discussion was almost entirely focused on planned technical questions, with minimal attention given to my previous work experience or personal projects.
I was able to answer the majority of the technical questions correctly, which the interviewer acknowledged with comments such as “perfect.” However, there were two questions I could not answer.
Several questions appeared to exist purely for interview purposes rather than being representative of practical, day-to-day work. These types of questions felt disconnected from the actual responsibilities of the role, and meaningless in an interview. I found it particularly challenging to respond to questions that were highly specific, one Google search away, and not relevant to on-the-job performance.
In the moments when I struggled, the interviewer offered no guidance or prompts and instead responded with a dismissive, somewhat arrogant tone, implying that I should already know the answers, e.g., “You don't know? I expect you to know this.” This approach felt unconstructive and did not foster a productive or respectful interview environment.
I decided not to proceed with the company straight after the interview. The company later followed up with a rejection.
