Initial phone call, in person interview with the Marketing Manager and the owners daughter. We talked in person for about an hour, and things were progressing. I would next receive a phone call from the owner of the company. He called me a few days later on a Sunday around 7 pm and we planned to meet 9 days later for lunch. Thats when it all went down hill. The owner of the company opened up our in person interview with "With red hair like yours, I am surprised you even know what Mediterranean food is!". He is a very uncomfortable person to spend any amount of time with. I couldn't get out of that interview fast enough. I also never received a call or email after our meeting. I was under the impression that I would receive an offer if my meeting with the owner went well. but he accused me of not actually being a designer part way through the interview, but he didn't actually know what he was talking about at all. I have lots of professional corporate experience. I was under the impression that this company is afraid of change. They are still using quark express. All in all it was a complete waste of time. Which really, is too bad because I had a lot of energy to put up with the conservative old school nonsense ways of the owner because I was legitimately excited about the product and had lots of ideas and was excited to give them my all. I could of written an amazing blog for them, and set them forward on a path to bring in lots of revenue and bring their website and company to a competitive age. I think the owner is setting that company back. So good luck to you. His daughter seemed like a joy and I know I would of enjoyed working with her.
