A manager conducted an interview regarding my experience as a software developer and tested me with a few technical questions. I had a choice using various languages. I choose JavaScript.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at The Buffalo Group in Jan 2021
Interview
Got email from recruiter. Set up initial screening with usual questions: experience, tech knowledge, salary expectations, etc. Recruiter sent an online assessment. The most terrible online assessment I’ve taken. When I say terrible, I don’t mean hard. I mean that it’s a terrible way to assess a dev. No coding. Just basic SQL, C++, HTML questions. It was timed so you had about 15 seconds per question. Then you’d “rate” your skill level for each language and tool you’ve used because a self-rating is a super useful metric... Cherry on top was I then got ghosted by the recruiter. No follow-up email, no feedback. No loss though.
