I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Terminal in May 2024
Interview
During a recent job interview, I encountered a recruiter who exhibited a surprising lack of professionalism. From the outset, their demeanor felt dismissive. They arrived late to the call without any apology, immediately setting a negative tone. Throughout the conversation, they interrupted me frequently, showing little interest in my responses or qualifications.
When discussing my experience, the recruiter seemed more focused on critiquing my background rather than understanding how it aligned with the position. Their comments were blunt and, at times, felt condescending, suggesting I was unqualified without providing constructive feedback. It became apparent that they had not reviewed my resume thoroughly, as they asked questions that were already clearly addressed in my application.
Furthermore, when I inquired about the company culture and the team dynamics, the recruiter brushed off my questions with vague answers and an air of impatience. This left me feeling undervalued and discouraged about the opportunity. The lack of professionalism and the unwelcoming atmosphere created a stark contrast to what I expected from a potential employer.
Overall, this experience highlighted the importance of effective communication and respect in the hiring process. A recruiter should serve as a representative of the company, embodying its values and creating a positive impression for candidates.
