I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Snowflake in Mar 2019
Interview
Applied online and spoke to a recruiter about the role. I was then scheduled with the Hiring Manager. In speaking with him, he dove into my background, problem areas he needed help with, and the biggest challenges he was facing in the organization. He ended the call by wanting me to speak to one of his direct reports and to also schedule an onsite with a panel of VPs. He said that I had the right background and depth of experience for the role.
The scheduler reached out to first schedule the call with the direct report. A couple days later, the scheduler reached out again to schedule the onsite.
The call with the direct report was great! She was very personable, had a wealth of information to share, and tested my experience to see how I could handle some of the challenges they were facing. At the of the call she said she looked forward to meeting me onsite.
Following this call, the recruiter wanted to "catch up" where she then asked me for salary requirements. She also mentioned that they typically don't offer relocation as this role would require me to relocate. We finished the call and things seem to be ok.
Two days later the recruiter wanted "catch up" again. This time she informed me that they would not be moving forward with me, and the onsite was canceled.
Everyone I met through the process were really great people. Snowflake is doing some amazing things in their space with a great chance to succeed. That being said, their recruiting processes need to be ironed out as this is their chance to make a good impression on great candidates.
