      Horrible Interview Process Interview

      20 Jun 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Sigstr

      Interview

Applied for a account exec. position . I have more than enough of the required sales and customer service background they were looking for. And I have a passion for marketing , with experience to match .I didnt hear back for a while after the interview and had to keep contacting the director of talent over and over for updates . Then they declined me for the position saying "I didnt give enough details about metrics " When they were asking me about metrics from positions from years ago and suggested me for another open sales position a week or two later. And I had probably what was the most unprofessional phone interview I have ever had. The manager was at a airport about to board a flight so it was extremely rushed . And it was mainly all questions about what I do in my social life outside of work and "who I am " outside of the office. Um?????????? The interview was so rushed and crammed . It wasnt fair to me . I didnt even get shot at an in person interview.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

" Who are you outside of the office? "

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to evaluate our interview process and although we are sorry it didn't work out for you to join us, we appreciate you sharing insight. In addition to relevant experience, we evaluate several factors when considering the best hire for our team. This includes core value alignment, personality fit, flexibility/adaptability, track record of success, amongst others. So although you may not understand some of the non-traditional questions, they tie into our hiring manager's strategy to make sure we have someone that will align with our team and business. We do our best to get updates as our hiring team provides them but there are instances when we need more time to evaluate our entire pipeline of interviews. As shared with you and all candidates in the interview process, we encourage people to partner with us through their interviews and are open about it taking time to find the right fit for our group. Part of this partnership is encouraging candidates to help hold us accountable to provide updates and take some ownership to ensure they know where they stand in our process. We take into consideration when evaluating candidates, especially those in sales positions, appropriate follow-up. As you know, prospective clients may say they will execute a deal on this date but the day may come and go. So how do they treat the interview process like they would a sales process? (How did they communicate, was there appropriate follow-up, did they send a thank-you, etc.). So we apologize if you didn't like that piece, but for us, it is a part of how we evaluate salespeople. We hope you have landed a wonderful new position and are happy in your role. Thanks again for providing us feedback and giving us the ability to respond with further insight for future salespeople to benefit. Sláinte, Sigstr
