I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify in Mar 2017
Interview
It was a 3-Stage interview process, including a "life-story" interview, "The Gauntlet," and an "Interview with a Squad Lead".
The first interview seemed to be an interview to. test relatability to new people, and how well you'd fit in with the Shopify Culture.
The second interview is an intensive 2.5 hour role-play session including 2 phone calls, 2 chat sessions, and 2 emails.
The final interview was really just informing me of Shopify's culture and values, and job expectations (all before a job offer!).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
During the Gauntlet I was asked "How do you create a dropdown menu" and "Why is my invoice so high?"
The first Interview was on phone interview. I did not pass through to next stage of the process, which was an online test. After that would be another formal interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at Shopify (Vancouver, BC)
Interview
The interview process was pretty intense. They asked me about my life story, but I’d also created a store before that. Then I had to do a technical interview where I pretended I already had the job.

Interview
The interview experience was professional, friendly and organized. Interviewee did notify via email whether I got the offer or not. Great to hear back the results since typically companies don't.
