Shopee Database Engineer interview questions

3 Tech Round & 1 HR Round First round is online assessment with MCQs and fill in the blank and one SQL question (cannot test). MCQs questions are about what tools to use to handle certain situations and basic knowledge of database. Second round is tech interview. Questions are based on your resume. I got the questions like python memory management, shallow copy and deep copy, MySQL mvcc properties, row lock, buffer pool. The interviewers are nice and giving a lot of hints during interview. Third tech interview is with the team lead. He shared with me about the job detail clearly and asked a question about how a SQL query works. Last round is HR interview that asked about your preference to work in Singapore, salary discussion, introduced the benefits and etc.

Online assessment with no screen monitoring. 30 MCQ including 1 sql question. Two more technical rounds if pass the OA. First technical round - OS, DB, network, programming language + 3 coding questions. Coding questions are relatively easy.
