3-4 hrs of virtual interviews followed by a site visit. There were no questions during the site visit, they just wanted to get to know me. In the virtual interviews, they wanted to know things like my philosophy towards medicine, how I approach treatment, about myself, why I was wanting the job or wanting to leave my other job, etc. After day 1 of the interview, I was told I was going to be contacted the next day by the CEO at Serenity Knolls. She did not contact me. I tried to send her a text to ask her a question while I was at the second rehab site (the job says it’s for serenity knolls but you actually have to cover serenity and bayside, the other rehab in San Rafael). She did not respond to my text. I sent an email to both CEOs after the interview. No response. I had to call the recruiter week 2 to make sure they were not going to move forward. So at some point in the first day of the interview, they decided they didn’t like me. Why not communicate that instead of ghosting? It was so weird . I didn’t think it went poorly at all based on the feedback the CEO gave during the process . So why act so fake? The entire step of the process before the site interview, I had to take the initiative to move the process forward. They were not reaching out despite saying they would and only once I sent out a reminder email. So maybe that was the early indicator?c the recruiter Debbie Hughes was terrible. She played phone tag constantly and would never use email or other less disruptive methods of communication despite me asking her to. So she would call me while I was working. She was just not very helpful or cordial. One perk was that they bothered to pay for a 4 night hotel stay anyway! But what was evident in the interview process was that they were not reliable, consistent, or transparent. And that is something important to take note of.
