Standard informal individual 1-2-1s with 3 staff members
Included 1 hr in tray exercise
Applied for a part-time contract role via agency. Attended a 3.5 hr interview including 1 hr ‘in-tray’ exercise. Over a month has passed and no courtesy call or email to inform me of their client’s decision and the consultant has ghosted me. The role has now been re-advertised directly by Sentec (and revised to full-time) when the reasons given at interview for part-time agency employment were due to restructuring of the organisation subsequent to new company ownership.
It takes time and money to attend interviews, the least you can do is place a phone call or send an email with feedback or explanation in light of these changes. Do you know what it feels like to be wondering if you’ve been forgotten? Hiring managers and recruiters need to remember that they at one time were looking for a job. Communicate with your candidates and put the human back in Human Resources.
