      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at San Diego Legacy (San Diego, CA) in Jun 2021

      Interview

I got an email by being on Zip Recruiter but I didn't apply. They have a feature allowing employers to contact you so that's how they emailed me. The initial hiring manager, said they were impressed with my resume and invited me for an in person interview. I wasn't sure if this was the Legacy Center in Mission Valley or another organization. San Diego Legacy's website is vague, but they said were interested in hiring someone in marketing and the website listed four different but similar marketing positions. My resume features my digital marketing skills and event marketing, so I thought they might need help with these areas. I wrote to them and asked them which position they had in mind for me. I got no response, so I called and left a message. Again, no reply. I figured since I didn't have anything planned that day, I'd go in for the interview anyway since it was already scheduled. What a waste of my time and my education! After I found the office, I was greeted by a polite young man who was the actual hiring manager, that was interviewing me. He told me a little about the scam, I mean, job. I asked which position they were interested in hiring me for and he said they only have one position open, which is piling in a car with a bunch of other people to promote D.A.R.E. drug prevention in front of stores, throughout the county and they also promoted AT&T an T Mobile. The job was at least 8 hours, plus the commute throughout the county. I asked about pay and they said it's all 100% on commission. I thought about how much time and energy I would waste on this and thought since I have real estate marketing experience and I'm educated, I should do that instead. I declined the offer for a second interview and left pissed off at their lack of disclosure.
