Unprofessional and Time-Consuming Interview Process – Disappointing Experience.
My experience with Salla’s recruitment process was highly disappointing and unprofessional. I’m sharing this in the hope that others don’t face a similar situation.
I applied for the Frontend Developer position via LinkedIn on March 28, 2025. After a long silence, I received a small recording assignment on April 10, which I submitted the very next day. On April 22, I was asked for my GitHub repository, which I provided promptly. Then, on May 4, I was given a much larger technical assignment.
This assignment was quite extensive—it involved multiple UI screens, creating a separate component library, integrating it into a demo site, and deploying the final solution. Given the scope, it required more than a full week of dedicated effort. I even reached out with questions on the same day, but only received a response two days later (May 6), causing delays. Despite this, I managed to complete and submit the assignment on May 11, working after office hours and on weekends.
On May 12, I received a positive response and was told they’d like to proceed with an interview, which was scheduled for May 14. The interview involved a panel of three people and focused on my experience, frontend skills, and projects. I felt the discussion went well and was optimistic based on the feedback during the call.
However, after that, there was complete silence. I followed up twice (on May 19 and May 25), but never received any response—not even a rejection email.
My feedback to Salla:
If you're going to ask candidates to invest several weeks of effort—balancing this with full-time jobs—at the very least, respect their time by closing the loop, even with a simple rejection message. Ghosting a candidate after such an intense process reflects poorly on your professionalism.
Advice to future applicants:
Think carefully before committing to their process. Unless you're comfortable investing significant time and effort with no guaranteed feedback, you may want to reconsider. In my case, it felt like a complete disregard for the candidate’s time and energy.
