I interviewed at STARK BUILDING (Coventry, England)
Interview
The interview process consisted of three stages: a phone interview, a Teams call, and finally a face-to-face interview, for which I was asked to complete a design brief in advance.
I understand that in a design role, these kinds of tasks are often necessary to demonstrate skills. However, I spent around three full days of my personal time working on the brief — while juggling a full-time job — and during the interview, my work was barely looked at.
I wasn’t successful, which I can accept, but I’ve since asked for feedback three times and have been completely ignored. I took annual leave to attend the interview, invested significant time and energy into the task, and yet it felt like none of that was even considered.
I’m honestly fed up with the way employers expect candidates to go above and beyond — sacrificing their own time, energy, and even income — and then can’t be bothered to offer basic feedback. It shows a complete lack of respect for people’s time, effort, and professional dignity.
