I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Routematic in Mar 2026
Interview
The interview process for the Mobile Developer role was poorly structured and inconsistent.
The first round (JavaScript machine coding) was relevant and technically sound. However, the second round, which was supposed to be a design discussion conducted in-office, did not evaluate any meaningful mobile development or system design skills. Instead, the discussion revolved around Apple deployment certificates and APNs, without assessing actual technical competence.
Despite not being tested on core mobile development concepts, the feedback given was that I am “not technically sound,” which is both inaccurate and unfair.
If an in-office round is scheduled, there should be a streamlined and role-relevant evaluation process. Candidates invest time, take leave from work, and incur travel expenses. Conducting an unstructured interview and then providing vague feedback reflects poorly on the hiring process.
This experience felt like a waste of time and resources due to the lack of proper technical evaluation.
