I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Riverside.FM in Jul 2023
Interview
Went through initial and secondary with take home assignment. Initial interview was fine. Learned a lot about the company. It was the secondary interview that was the WORST with the guy with the beard. He had an arrogance about him, and yet he struggled to properly convey his questions well. He tried to seem superior and highly intellectual. In reality, he is an narcissist. Seemed like a toxic work environment. They then give you a task to prospect 5 companies of who would be a "great fit" for Riverside. You then have to pick 2 companies while picking 2-3 prospects for each one. Explain why they would be an ideal candidate and prospect to reach out to. THEN, you have to write out your cold email for these two, and cold calling script. FINALLY, you have to do a 1 minute video pitching a follow up to someone who wanted a demo. All of this seems like they were looking for different perspectives on leads. They don't even tell you why you did not move on. They just continue to repost the job. If I could, I would bill them for my time on this massive undertaking of an assignment!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions: Tell me about your prior experiences. Why is the product needed at the company you work for. How many phone calls do you make, and emails per day and week? Why do you like sales? Do you have a competitive drive, and why does it make you successful? If you had to give a headline, why are you successful? How many new contacts do you do per week? Would you have time to research and still enroll new contacts on top of cold calling? How so? Tell me 1 good and 1 not so go experiences with a manager. Do you want to stay in this role indefinitely? What is Riverside? (Yes, they finally ask this question two thirds of the way into the interview). What is the difference between recording on Riverside and recording on Zoom? Why is Zoom choppy and Riverside is not? What is a good company for Riverside? If you could give a wider example, or sector, what would it be? Who would be the right person to prospect? [Production/Marketing] Lets say you are going after iHeart Media. Do you have any idea of who the right person would be to go after?
