Initially I applied online for this position and got an Email from technical recruiter to setup an initial phone interview to go over my previous experiences. After the phone interview, they decided to setup a 30 minutes technical interview to go over some "CS fundamentals". The interview went pretty well, and they asked reasonable question related to the position.
The next round of interview was a project for me to work on it for about a week and submit it online. The project requirements were a bit wage, but you could tell it was "related" to what they expect you do if you start working there. Once I submitted my project, I didn't hear back from them for about a week, and I had to follow up with them to get some updates, and finally they decided to go forward to the next interview.
This time, they were planning to do some live coding with a senior engineer . They mentioned there will be some "deep questions relating to programming, algorithms, and databases" and it should take about an hour. During the interview, he asked about 4 questions and the interviewer was helpful to walk me through the questions and help me to understand the problem. This round went pretty well as well.
Just like the previous interviews, they didn't get back to me and I had to ping them. After about TWO weeks, they told me that my "answers to the questions were OK", but they look for "bit more experienced" than me. However they told me that I could be a good fit for another position, which will help me to get ready for the full-stack position. At this point, I was still interested to go forward with this company, and the recruiter mentioned that he will talk to the manager with the other team and will get back to me.
After about A MONTH not hearing back from them and me keep following up with this company, they mentioned that they put the position on hold, but they are expecting to re-open in next few days and they will get back to me soon, and that was the LAST Email I got from this company...
Overall experience was total disappoint for a startup company that received so many awards for being "the most innovative startup in LA" or "top 100 most brilliant companies". I wasted about 3 MONTHS of my time doing all these interviews and they just disappeared. The least kind of behavior you expect from a company...
