I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Remote (Singapore) in Feb 2025
Interview
First screening by TA then interview with the hiring manager. Seemed like a good connection, went overt time, discussed next steps and told to expect a call. Nothing then the usual metaphor for you are too old " with your experience you'd be a perfect fit if we were bigger"
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How often were you involved in the direct sales process.
Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the process was not as you had anticipated. We appreciate your honesty and will use your feedback to make our hiring process better.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Remote in Dec 2021
Interview
I applied for them, because the company aligns quite well with my values. Unfortunately, the company is still very young and can't distinguish between good and bad talent. Remote told me, what they would offer me. Good thing, another company made me an offer twice their size.
It was a poor experience after all. Although the team came off as very friendly, and I got along with pretty much all of them (that is, what I at least thought), it was a mess. They were missing appointments. They rescheduled them very often. Interviewers kept changing. I never had the feeling, that they really wanted to talk to me or give me a real chance. After about 2 months, I got to the last interview round. It was one of the worst interviews I had in my life. I was being recorded, even though no consent was given. The interviewer was pretty new in the company and came off as very inexperienced. The whole thing was just strange and my impression on the company drastically changed. You shouldn't put people into position with power, if they aren't able to handle that.
What also shines through is their political view. I don't want to get too much into details, but I am talking about political views, that don't have much to do with promoting remote work. A business should be about making business.
As I said, I am very happy, that they didn't make me an offer. Another company not only compensates me better, but also offered me a higher position and a real remote job.
I hope, that they will improve on their interview process, for the sake of making remote work a success.
