I applied online. I interviewed at Randstad (Manchester, England) in Aug 2020
Interview
Applied for 2 jobs 1 directly for Randstad the other was for a client who outsourced the recruitment process. Rejected for both at cv stage. Asked for specific feedback. Randstad job = “Over-qualified”. RPO job, apparently this is not possible. Clearly it is possible, not everyone asks.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Feel that age was a discriminatory factor in both applications. Asked for specific feedback on both applications. Apparently this was not possible.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Randstad (Tokyo) in Jul 2025
Interview
I passed my CV to one of the directors, because theres so many Talent Acquisitions (but they are TA for RPO).
They arranged me to meet with their TA.
Before setting this meeting, I specifically said I do not speak Japanese, so lets not waste our time if Japanese is required to work as a recruitment consultant.
Met with the TA for 1 hour. All looked good.
When I asked about the next step - the TA suddenly changed her tone and said "we don't have any needs for recruitment consultants that don't speak Japanese".
Wasted 1 hour, and was rejected from the beginning. Avoid.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Randstad (Brussels) in Jan 2019
Interview
Processus très lent comprenant beaucoup trop d'étape avec une tendance à rabaisser le candidat et à placer le salaire demandé considérablement à la baisse. Au final, une mauvaise expérience candidat.
