I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Rakuten (Bengaluru) in Dec 2021
Interview
I was getting interviewed during my notice period and I have come accross a very negative interview process
I have cleared 2 rounds first round was test and 2nd round was technical that also went smooth.
3rd round also went very well and HR also confirmed it's positive response from the team but after 1 week HR called me saying you could not do really well in overall process but we are referring for another role.I told earlier it was confirmed by you it's positive. After sometime I told HR to drop my candidature if it's not a positive response but HR keep telling we are processing for another role.
Next role interview:
Again cleared 2 rounds but in 3rd round the interviewer asked me around 7-8 programming questions and I got stuck in very last question and hence it's end here.
Overall if you don't want to hire someone or position got filled please say directly to candidates but please don't do this to reject candidate purposefully.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Rakuten
Interview
Don't go through 3rd party for interview in Rakuten . Rakuten conducts fake interviews. Inspite of doing well, they block your number after final round conducted. Such a waste of time.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Rakuten (Tokyo) in Aug 2025
Interview
The first interview will be with a recruiter. In this stage, you will introduce yourself and talk about your professional experience. It mainly focuses on evaluating your English communication skills, cultural fit, and overall background.
The second stage was with another interviewer, but the experience felt unclear. The questions were vague and very general, so I often felt like I was just talking to myself. The lack of engagement made the interview feel monotonous, and I found the interviewer yawning throughout entire session.

In the second stage, the interviewer asked me questions related to Kafka, RabbitMQ, CQRS, Saga Orchestration, and microservices.
