1) They reached out to me via A-List (Angel List)
2) Their recruiter was late for the initial phone screen, butchered my name without asking how to pronounce it or apologizing, and was very cold and unwelcoming. She read off the questions robotically and I wondered if she actually heard my responses because there were 2 times I recall that I answered a question in my elaboration of a previous question... found myself saying "Again... I..."
3) Simple Javascript coding challenge. 3 very easy questions on an online coding tool.
4) Video tech screen with an engineer. I lasted this long because I figured it would be great to meet with a real engineer there. Their booking system caused me to receive 2 separate confirmed times which ultimately took up an hour of my time that I booked out for them. The screening itself also felt cold and robotic.
4) Short and polite rejection (which was fair, I did not think I performed very well in the video screen)
I'm not sure why an interview process has to be like this. If you have too many people in your pipeline that I'm just another ticket, know that it did not make this candidate feel like you actually wanted me to begin with. I would work with your recruiter on her interviewing skills and practice them with her so she enables a more positive experience for your prospects. If she is a reflection of your culture, I would not have accepted an offer had there been one.
