      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Quillbot in May 2025

      Interview

A Frustrating, Time-Wasting Interview Process — Proceed With Caution Review: My interview experience with QuillBot was deeply disappointing and unnecessarily drawn out. The entire process took nearly a month, with multiple rounds, assignments, and extensive discussions — only to end with a vague rejection citing “internal misalignment.” It started well enough — the HR explained the process clearly, and I was genuinely looking forward to the discussions. The first round lasted about an hour and went positively. I then completed a detailed assignment and proceeded to the second round, which lasted almost two hours. Feedback continued to be positive, which kept me engaged. Then came the CEO round — an odd experience. The conversation largely revolved around generic topics like strengths and weaknesses, and didn’t add much value to the process. I was later informed that the CEO feedback was “mixed,” which raises an obvious question: if there were doubts at this critical stage, why did the process continue to the HRBP round? Why invest more of the candidate’s time and hopes if internal alignment wasn’t there? Nevertheless, I went ahead with the HRBP round, which again ended on a seemingly positive note. Then followed 8-10 days of complete silence. Despite multiple follow-ups, there was no clarity. Eventually, I received a call saying they couldn’t move forward due to “internal misalignment.” That’s it. This kind of experience is not just disappointing — it’s disrespectful. Candidates deserve transparency, efficiency, and respect for their time. Instead, what I got was a messy, unclear process that felt like an afterthought. Advice to candidates: Be cautious. If you do choose to engage, get clarity in writing at every step, and don’t get your hopes up based on positive feedback — it might not mean anything. Overall recommendation: Pathetic experience. Would not recommend engaging unless you have time to waste.
