I applied online. I interviewed at Pulumi in May 2025
Interview
1. Phone screen with the recruiter
2. Screening call with the manager.
Mostly a skills review from the resume. Described their CI/CD process and asked way I would improve them. It was a good talk and I made it thru to the next round.
3. Scheduled 4 rounds with the team.
- 3.1 Was with the PM. Discussed more of the same stuff as with the HM. Things to improve, communicating with others etc.
- 3.2 Was with a software engineer. Again skillz test, discussed CI/CD for their docs infra,
- 3.3 Was with a software engineer. He asked me to write a func to recursively find *.md files in a repo, read the file to find doc links in them, check if they exist. I did not do very well.
They rejected me here and did not proceed.

I applied online. I interviewed at Pulumi in Aug 2024
Interview
Went through 5 rounds of behavioral and technical interviews only to be rejected with a generic response and no feedback. The technical portions are NOT leetcode based anymore but the entire process feels like a waste of time to go through that many rounds and still get rejected.

Create an algorithm that compares differences between two objects
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Pulumi (Seattle, WA) in May 2021
Interview
- The interview process, was very long, between screens and the full loop I had about 8 different interviews.
- Most interviews were fairly unstructured, a bit of values, a bit of tech (coding, system design), and there was no agenda communicated, so I did not know at all what a given interview would entail.
- The coding / system design questions were pretty reasonable, nothing too crazy. One question I did not expect and struggled at was of the type "design a parking a lot".
- All the interviewer were great, friendly, and very very strong technically.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- design a parking lot type
- 2 or 3 leetcode medium type coding questions
- API design question
- behavorial questions spread out
