So incredibly unprofessional. I went in for a first interview and everything went fairly well—I loved the people and it seemed like a great work environment. I went home and immediately had an email from the CEO saying she wanted to bring me back in for a second interview, and of course I was very excited. We scheduled the interview, and then the morning of the interview (literally an hour before I was scheduled to go in) she emailed me and said she had to reschedule due to a family emergency. Okay, no biggie, that happens. So we reschedule the interview for the following morning. The following morning, I start getting ready for the interview and I check my email. I had another email from her saying she needed to reschedule a second time because now she was sick. Okay, now I’m a little annoyed since I took off off work both mornings, but hey, stuff happens. She says she doesn’t want to reschedule quite yet because she’ll be out of the office for a week, and she would reach out to me the following week to reschedule. Well, I waited 2.5 weeks and didn’t hear anything from her. So I emailed to see if she still wanted to reschedule, and waited 1 week with no reply. I sent an additional follow up email, and finally she responded and said they were delaying the hiring process until the beginning of the year (this all happened in November) and they would reach out then. Of course, they never reached back out to me in January. It was incredibly unprofessional to “ghost” a potential employee, and now reflecting on it I think I dodged a bullet. They were incredibly disorganized, unprofessional, and clearly did not respect my time. Don’t call someone back for a second interview, cancel on them twice, and then ghost them. Ridiculous.
