The process was in 2 parts. The first interviewer was someone in another field, the second was someone in the field you are applying for. The issue is that there are over 100 employees applying for 1 open position. So if you have 7 years experience and someone else has 8, they are moving forward with that person. Degrees don't matter only if you have internal progressive experience. All the managers mainly have High School diplomas, and so I think they feel like if someone has a degree we are coming in to take over their positions. So I don't see many managers with advance degree unless they received it while they were employed there. They promised a way of moving up the ladder in the beginning but you have to start in levels. You can't just jump into a higher tier, even if you have the experience outside of the company. I am not going to stay with a company for 10 yrs just to be a manager after I have already proved myself with an advance degree and experience. Aced the Interview, it was easy. I even tried going thru their interview process. Like she told me I am over qualified.
