      Workplace Assistant Interview

      1 Feb 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Procore Technologies (Austin, TX) in Jan 2017

      Interview

I applied online and a recruiter from Procore reached out to me to set up a phone interview. This was the first interview, a 30 minute phone call with the recruiter, answering very basic interview questions. I had a second phone interview with the operations manager a few days later. This was another 30 minute phone call where I answered the same basic interview questions. After about a week, they reached out inviting me to the Austin office to interview for a third round of interviews. We set up a time and I went to the office. I met with 3 different people and had 3 separate interviews this day. Again, they asked very basic questions, some of which I had already answered 2 or 3 times at this point. Everyone was nice but some seemed a little unprepared. After leaving the office, I felt confident that I was fully capable of this role and that all 5 interviews had gone very well. I waited over the weekend to hear back from them and when they did reach out, they asked to set up yet another round of interviews. I schedule times to have two more 30 minute phone calls with two new people. These two interviews also went well and I was told by the interviewers that I was very qualified for this position and they felt that I would be a great fit. I was excited to be done with all 7 interviews and finally close to getting an offer. They took quite a long time in getting back to me, only to let me know that they were going another direction. WHAT? After a month long interview process of basically having the exact same interview 7 different times, you're going another direction? I thought very highly of the company and it's process until this point. I found it extremely rude to drag me along for so long for it to lead to nothing. They were also fully aware that I had another offer waiting on my response and they still waited until the last possible second to give me an answer. All in all, my feedback is that if you are going to have an extensive interview process, that is fine, but ask different questions in each interview. Also, have a little respect for the candidate's time.
