      Graphic Designer Interview

      23 May 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New Orleans, LA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ProKeep (New Orleans, LA) in May 2024

      Interview

I went through 3 rounds of interviews and was then given a project to complete. During the process, one of the managers had an emergency and cancelled my interview, but this was not communicated with me until about an hour before the interview after I asked the hiring manager again. After this, she said she would get back to me that afternoon about rescheduling, but I did not hear from her for 2 days. I understand that emergencies happen but the hiring manager was not the one who had the emergency so I don't understand why there was so little communication. At this point I already had 2 interviews, so I thought I was being ghosted. I then completed the final interview and then project which was three graphics, a video and an infographic (which took me an entire weekend to complete) and had to present these creatives in another meeting. I then received a rejection email with no explanation the next day. Not even a few hours later I saw the same job reposted on LinkedIn with a higher salary. I feel used and frustrated that it seemed like I was never really even considered, despite doing so much work for this process. Honestly it just felt like one big slap in the face. Would not recommend.

      8 Jul 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New Orleans, LA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ProKeep (New Orleans, LA) in Jun 2024

      Interview

I felt that the interview process lacked organization and structure. It seemed repetitive, as if I were having the same interview multiple times, which could have been avoided with clearer planning. The format and timing of the sample assignments gave me the impression that I was being asked to provide free work. There was an initial project of designing something within 20 or so minutes, just to give them an idea about your design style. I declined when they asked for a more in depth exercise, including an entire campaign mockup with videos, that were similar to what one might expect from an employee rather than a candidate.
